Healthcare Reform

America’s failing healthcare system is a top priority. A lifelong dedication to studying health science, coupled with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and her own personal health journey, has equipped her with the insights needed to delve deep into healthcare issues and pursue effective solutions.

“As an individual who has navigated periods without health insurance, I can attest that the cost of healthcare for those without benefits is excessively burdensome. Every tax paying citizen should have opinions for affordable healthcare and cost transparency from providers.”

Corporate healthcare and pharmaceutical companies are profiting immensely off of Americans with health challenges, while the actual quality of care received often falls short of the significant amounts paid. In addition, Brandi cannot ignore that we are a nation sick at the hands of our failing Food and Drug Administration, which is not performing its purpose of protecting Americans from disease-causing chemicals and unsafe food.

“As your Senator, I am committed to a thorough examination of our healthcare system, crafting informed policies to address each identified issue until we achieve an impactful solution.”

Embedded within this call for substantial healthcare reform is a commitment to enhancing services for individuals with disabilities and our esteemed veterans. This involves implementing policies to rebuild Social Security, including adjusting the taxable earnings cap, leveraging technology to streamline administrative processes and reduce costs, and addressing challenges within the Disability Insurance (DI) program. Brandi will propose policies aimed at enhancing the disability eligibility determination process, preventing instances of fraud, and advocating for return-to-work programs. By doing so, it will ensure that funds are directed toward aiding those genuinely in need. To qualify for SSDI, disabled persons must have a monthly income of $1,350 or less to receive benefits. This restricts the range of job and career possibilities for individuals with disabilities, preventing them from reaching their maximum potentials. As your Senator, Brandi will consistently consider the concerns of Americans with disabilities in all discussions related to these issues.
