Government Corruption

In order to address the pressing issue of government corruption and ensure greater accountability, Brandi proposes a comprehensive set of policy changes. These measures aim to foster transparency, limit the influence of special interests, and strengthen the foundations of our democratic system.

1. Term Limits

Implementing a constitutional amendment establishing a two-term limit for Senators which would help mitigate the entrenchment of power, encourage fresh perspectives, and prevent the development of long-standing political dynasties.

2. 24-Hour Video Surveillance in Government Buildings

Installing 24-hour video surveillance in government buildings, coupled with strict access controls, would serve as a powerful deterrent against lawbreaking elected officials and their staffers.

3. Lobbying Reform

Lobbying reform is critical for fostering heightened transparency in lobbying activities. Implementing stricter regulations to address the revolving door dynamics between government and lobbying roles, along with enhanced disclosure requirements, will promote greater accountability.

4. Campaign Finance Reform

Campaign finance reform is required to mitigate the undue influence of money in politics. This involves setting strict limits on political contributions, refining disclosure requirements, regulating Political Action Committees (PACs) and Super PACs, restricting corporate and union contributions, and ensuring the Federal Election Commission (FEC) is enforcing these regulations. These measures collectively aim to create a more transparent electoral system, reducing the impact of special interests and promoting clean elections.

Through the reform of campaign finance laws, we can reinstate the vision of our founding fathers, ensuring that every American, regardless of social class, has the opportunity to pursue political office. This transformative approach fosters increased competition, offering the American people a more diverse and robust selection of candidates. By doing so, we can uphold our democratic principles of equal representation and empower individuals with significant leadership potential.
